The website "NPD-Blog" examines the extent to which bigotry and hatred play a role in the white supremacist ideology of the extreme right-wing party NPD. 


Since 2005 there is a German weblog dealing with the extreme right-wing party NPD.  The “NPD-Blog”, as it is called, offers critical reports about the activities of the NPD and the right-wing scene and also takes into account the media coverage about the topic.  Apart from a register of all NPD members and articles categorized by state, the weblog includes a detailed list with further links to websites about right-wing extremism and the NPD.  The NPD-Blog is written by the Hamburg-based journalist Patrick Gensing who works on a voluntary basis.

Patrick Gesing gets part of his information from interviewing NPD politicians.  The weblog was nominated for the Grimme Online Award in the category „information“ in May 2007.  In nomination highlighted that the coverage in the blog exceeds what conventional media offers and that it makes a crucial contribution to contesting extreme right-wing strategies and agents.  By informing his readers about the neo-Nazi scene, Patrick Gensing also helps to combat bigotry and hatred.  Neo-Nazi white supremacist ideology is based on deeply racist notions about certain people as more valuable than others.
