2021, actually a festival year: 1700 years of Jewish life will be celebrated in Germany. But the mood is clouded. 2021 is a festive year with aftertaste. Because at the same time, the 1699 years of Jewish life in Germany before the corona pandemic were – to put it mildly – not easy. Because anti-Semitism has a long history, persecution, expulsions and murders shape German-Jewish history.
